Hair texture generally refers to the natural shape or pattern of your strands. This is often what people refer to when they talk about different hair types.
This refers to how much hair you have on your scalp.
Porosity refers to how well your hair is able to absorb and hold moisture.
This is the hair's ability to stretch and return to its original length without breaking.
This describes how oily or dry your scalp is, which affects your hair.
Refers to the diameter of individual hair strands.
Each hair type has its unique characteristics and requires different care and styling techniques. For instance, curly hair (Type 3) usually needs more hydration and less frequent washing, while straight hair (Type 1) may require more frequent cleansing. Understanding your hair type helps in choosing the right products and styling methods to maintain healthy and beautiful hair.
]]>A proper understanding of different hairline types is essential for effectively applying hair extensions to achieve a natural and flattering look. Here's a detailed explanation:
Straight Hairline: Uniform across the forehead. Ideal for most types of hair extensions as there's an even base for application.
Rounded Hairline: Follows the curve of the head, softer around the temples. Extensions can be used to enhance volume while maintaining the natural curve.
Widow's Peak: A V-shape in the middle of the forehead. Care is needed with extensions to either accentuate the peak or to disguise it, depending on the desired look.
Bell-shaped Hairline: Wider in the middle and narrows at the sides. Extensions can be applied to create a more balanced look.
Uneven Hairline: Asymmetry can be corrected or camouflaged with strategic placement of extensions.
Receding Hairline: Extensions can be used to add volume to the front, but careful attention is needed to avoid stress on thinning hair.
High Hairline: Extensions can help in creating the illusion of a lower hairline if desired, especially with bangs or fringe extensions.
Low Hairline: Extensions are usually focused on adding volume or length rather than altering the hairline.
M-shaped Hairline: Can be challenging; extensions need to be placed to create a more uniform hairline appearance.
Cowlicks and Baby Hairs: Require careful placement of extensions to ensure a natural look while accommodating the direction of hair growth.
Hairline types in women are primarily characterized by their shape and position on the forehead.
Straight Hairline: This hairline runs straight across the forehead. It's the most uniform type of hairline and is often considered a "classic" look. A straight hairline can give a balanced appearance to the face.
Rounded Hairline: A rounded hairline follows the curve of the head and is more prominent around the temples. It softens the facial features and is often associated with a youthful appearance.
Widow's Peak: Characterized by a V-shape or a point in the middle of the forehead, a widow's peak can be subtle or pronounced. This type of hairline can give a distinctive look and is often a hereditary trait.
Bell-shaped Hairline: Resembling the shape of a bell, this hairline has a wider appearance in the middle of the forehead and narrows down at the sides. This type can add a gentle curvature to the face.
Uneven Hairline: Some women have an uneven or asymmetrical hairline, where one side may be higher or more receded than the other. This can be a natural variance or result from hair loss or breakage.
Receding Hairline: This is where the hairline starts moving backwards from the forehead. It's a common sign of hair thinning or hair loss in women and can be due to various factors like genetics, hormonal changes, or medical conditions.
High Hairline: A high hairline sits further up on the forehead, giving the appearance of a larger forehead. This is often a genetic trait and can influence how certain hairstyles look.
Low Hairline: Conversely, a low hairline sits closer to the eyebrows and gives the appearance of a smaller forehead. This type can make some hairstyles, like bangs, more challenging to pull off.
M-shaped Hairline: Also known as a "male-pattern" hairline in its more pronounced form, this type of hairline has a receding pattern at the temples. It's less common in women but can occur, especially with hormonal changes or hair loss conditions.
Cowlicks and Baby Hairs: While not hairlines per se, cowlicks (hair that grows in a different direction) and baby hairs (fine, short hairs) around the hairline can significantly influence its appearance and how hairstyles are managed.
The application of hair extensions varies significantly based on the type of hairline, the health of the hair, and the desired outcome.
A thorough understanding of these factors ensures that the extensions enhance the natural beauty of the client without compromising hair health.
Always consider consulting with a professional hairstylist for the best results, especially for complex cases like receding or uneven hairlines

]]>Washing your clip-in hair extensions is an important part of maintaining their quality and ensuring they look their best. Here are the steps to wash clip-in hair extensions:
Detangle: Before washing, gently comb through the extensions to remove any tangles or knots. Use a wide-toothed comb or a soft-bristle brush.
Prepare a basin or sink: Fill a basin or sink with lukewarm water. Avoid using extremely hot water, as it can damage the extensions.
Swank extension Shampoo: Add a small amount of shampoo to the water and mix it until it forms a soapy solution. Make sure the shampoo you are using is suitable for extensions or for your hair type. Avoid harsh products that can strip the extensions of their natural oils. We recommend swank extensions shampoo.
Soak: Submerge the extensions in the soapy water, making sure not to tangle them further. Gently swish them around to ensure the shampoo penetrates the hair.
Rinse: Empty the soapy water and refill the basin with clean lukewarm water. Rinse the extensions thoroughly, allowing the water to flow in the direction of the hair strands. Make sure all the shampoo is removed.
Swank Conditioner: Apply a small amount of conditioner specifically designed for hair extensions. Avoid applying conditioner to the root areas or clips, as it can make the clips slippery. Leave the conditioner on for a few minutes, then rinse it out with cool water.
Pat dry: Gently squeeze out excess water from the extensions. Avoid wringing or twisting the hair, as this can cause damage. You can use a clean towel to help absorb excess moisture.
Air dry: Lay the extensions flat on a clean towel or hang them on a clip-in extension hanger. Allow them to air dry naturally. Only Use swank Argan oil for smooth texture .only if you can avoid using heat styling tools or blow dryers on the extensions, as excessive heat can damage them.
Comb and style: Once the extensions are completely dry, gently comb through them again to remove any tangles. You can style them as desired with heat tools
Store properly: When not in use, store your clip-in hair extensions in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. You can keep them in a protective case or swank silk bag to prevent tangling and damage.
The frequency of washing your clip-in hair extensions will depend on how often you wear them and the products you use. Generally, if you use them regularly, washing every 10-20 wears or when they become visibly dirty is a good rule of thumb. Proper care will help extend the lifespan of your clip-in extensions.

Consultation: Before getting sew-in extensions, it's important to consult with us to determine the type, length, and texture of hair extensions that will best match your natural hair and desired look.
Preparation: Your natural hair should be clean, free from excess oil, and properly conditioned before starting the process. This makes it easier to braid and sew the extensions.
Braiding: we will create a series of small, tight cornrows or braids close to your scalp. These braids serve as the foundation for attaching the extensions.
Weft Preparation: Hair wefts, which are long strips of hair, are usually attached to the cornrows using a needle and thread. The wefts are made from human hair.
Sewing: We will sew the wefts onto the braids. Typically, they start at the nape of the neck and work their way up, ensuring that the wefts are securely attached. This process can be time-consuming 2 to 3 hours , but it's essential for the longevity of the extensions.
Blending: After the extensions are sewn in, we will blend your natural hair with the extensions to create a seamless and natural look. This may involve trimming and styling the extensions to match your desired length and texture.
Styling: Once the extensions are in place and blended, you can style your hair as desired. You can curl, straighten, or braid your hair, just like you would with your natural hair.
Sew-in extensions offer several benefits, such as the ability to change your hairstyle without committing to a permanent change, and they can protect your natural hair from daily wear and tear. However, they also require regular maintenance, including tightening the weave and proper care to ensure the extensions look good and last longer.
It's essential to have sew-in extensions installed and maintained by a professional stylist, as improper installation or neglect can damage your natural hair and scalp. Additionally, it's vital to follow a proper hair care routine to keep both your natural hair and the extensions healthy.

Potential Damage: While they are generally less damaging than some other extension methods, improper application, removal, or excessive use can still lead to hair damage.
In conclusion, clip-in extensions are a great option for temporary hair transformation, but they have their limitations. Consider your styling needs and personal preferences when choosing the type of hair extensions that are right for you.

Protective Measures:
Rinse Before Swimming:
Use a Leave-In Conditioner:
Rinse After Swimming:
Be Gentle:
Dry and Style Carefully:
Regular Maintenance:
It's worth noting that prolonged exposure to chlorine and saltwater can cause damage to both natural hair and hair extensions over time.
If you plan to swim frequently, especially in chlorinated pools, you should discuss this with your hair stylist before getting extensions. They can recommend the best type of extensions for your lifestyle and provide specific care instructions.
Remember that the lifespan and condition of your hair extensions will depend on various factors, including the quality of the extensions, how well you care for them, and how often you swim or expose them to harsh elements.
Pros of Weft Hair Extensions:
Natural-Looking Results: Weft extensions can provide a natural look when properly installed. The wefts lie flat against your scalp and blend seamlessly with your natural hair.
Versatility: Weft extensions can be applied in various ways, offering versatility in styling. They can be sewn in, allowing you to choose the method that suits your needs.
Long-Lasting: Weft extensions are known for their durability. When well-maintained, they can last for several weeks before needing adjustments.
Adds Volume and Length: Weft extensions are excellent for adding both volume and length to your natural hair. You can achieve fuller, longer hair instantly.

Variety of Hair Types: Weft extensions are available in a variety of hair types, including straight, curly, wavy, and different textures, making it easy to find a match for your natural hair.
Cons of Weft Hair Extensions:
Installation Time: Depending on the method used, installing weft extensions can be time-consuming. Sew-in extensions, for example, require a longer application process compared to clip-ins.
Initial Cost: High-quality weft extensions can be expensive, and the cost can add up if you opt for professional installation.
Maintenance Needed: While they are low-maintenance once installed, weft extensions do require periodic maintenance appointments to adjust and tighten the wefts as your natural hair grows.
Potential Damage: If not installed or maintained properly, weft extensions can cause damage to your natural hair. The weight of the wefts or tight sewing can lead to breakage or thinning.
Discomfort: Some people may experience discomfort or tension on the scalp, especially with sew-in wefts, due to the weight and tightness of the installation.
Limited Styling Options: Certain hairstyles or updos may be limited when wearing weft extensions, especially if they are bulky or have visible weft tracks.
Visible Tracks: If not applied correctly, the weft tracks may become visible or bulky, making it obvious that you are wearing extensions.
In summary, weft hair extensions offer a versatile and natural way to enhance your hair, but they come with their own set of considerations. To make the most of weft extensions, it's essential to choose a qualified stylist, invest in high-quality extensions, and commit to regular maintenance. Weft extensions can be a fantastic option for those seeking a longer-lasting hair transformation, but it's important to be aware of both their benefits and potential drawbacks.

They add length, volume and thickness to your hair in under minutes. Maintaining them isn’t hard at all.
Clip-in hair extensions don’t receive any nourishing, natural oils from the scalp like our own tresses do, so it’s best to wash them as infrequently as possible to prevent them from becoming unnecessarily dry.
Tip:
Only use shampoos and conditioners which are sulphate and paraben free.
As there is no direct supply of nutrients from your scalp into the Clip ins Hair extensions you should avoid drying the hair out as sulphates can cause split ends to form in your hair and can make your hair look dry or frizzy over time.

]]>Can I swim with my hair extensions?
Of course, you can go swimming with hair extensions on. The only condition here is that you need to know what you are working with and how to take the best care of them. While you still enjoy swimming whilst wearing our hair extensions.
Prior to swimming apply leave in conditioner and tie hair back in a loose ponytail. Immediately afterwards untie hair, rinse thoroughly with clean water, gently squeeze, towel dry and apply a leave in conditioner/deep repair mask.
Do not leave hair to dry in bun or plait. Regular exposure to salt water and chlorine can be drying on hair extensions. Always following up with a deep conditioning treatment to replenish hair extensions.
If you can get those two things done, you are ensured to have a lasting relationship with your extensions without getting wrecked by the water, the chlorine or the salt.
Can I exercise with my hair extensions?
Hair should be tied in a loose ponytail, avoid wearing in a messy bun. Brush hair thoroughly as directed before and after activities and apply leave in conditioner.
Can I use heat styling on my hair Extensions?
YES, Heated styling tools (hair dryer’s curlers, straighteners etc.) can be used on safely on human hair extensions. You should exercise with the same care you would use with your natural hair. Always use heat protection products. .
Can I color my Hair Extensions?
It is difficult to offer advice when it comes to coloring human hair extensions as it varies on a case by case basis. Because each manufacturer uses difference techniques and chemicals on their hair extensions during the manufacturing process it is difficult to predict the reaction to hair dyes. Before coloring hair extensions a strand test is highly recommended.
Can I colour my hair with extensions in?
Yes you can for solid colours a professional hairstylist is recommend.
Hair coloring should be carried out before extensions are applied. Hair color can cause hair extensions to slip out. Also hair extensions can react differently to hair dye to natural hair. For predictable results, avoid coloring hair extensions at home.
Root touch ups can be done (very carefully) around hair extensions if the bonds and hair extensions are avoided.
Tip: Only Use shampoos and conditioners which are sulphate and paraben free. As there is no direct supply of nutrients from your scalp into the Hair extensions you should avoid drying the hair out as sulphates can cause split ends to form in your hair and can make your hair look dry or frizzy over time.Invest in a Good Shampoo and Conditioner,Good Moisturizing Mask should be your Best friend.

]]>Hair extensions are absolutely glamorous, adding volume and length or even just protecting damaged hair.
With the right type of hair extensions and the right expertise, you can look your best, and ultimately make any woman feel glamorous, that’s why so many women choose to get hair extensions.
Are you still undecided? That’s Okay
Let’s start with Sew in Extensions. (Sewn-in is braided method.) One of my favorite technique.
Sew In extensions is when your natural hair is braided into cornrows to create a base for either Full head or Half head , then extensions are sewn in with a needle and cotton thread.
The best part of sewn in,
The best part it suits all types of hair types & texture, if they are applied correctly you will have instant Length or Volume.
Now let’s talk About the Worst:
I can’t stress this enough please note that the tightness of the braids is a very important factor. This can make your head hurt or feel like nothing at all. So the right application is necessary for comfortable extensions.
Would love to hear your comments below, if you have had sewn in extensions and what you thought about them,

What makes these Micro Weft Extensions unique,is that they are applied without any use of chemicals, heat, glue or bond.
Using Silicone tiny beads using a loop creates a track clamping the beads with a pair of pliers to your natural hair, then a needle & thread is used to sew in the hair extensions.
If you suffer from Migraines or have sensitive scalp, this method is for you, everything happens very gently, quickly and exceptionally simple.
But if you have allergic reactions to metal, it’s worthwhile considering other methods.
Why micro weft hair extensions:
The beads are durable and made of a lightweight silicone lining that minimized the weight on the hair follicle.
Absence of any glue or bond makes Micro weft hair extensions totally safe for your hair
We double stitched, meaning they’re durable and will last 4/6 weeks. It’s important that you have your beaded weft extensions maintained. Your hair is growing, which will loosen the beaded weft over time.
When you remove the extensions, the wefts are removed with a sharp scissors & the beads are opened up and your natural hair slides out, without breaking or pulling it out.
Your hair remains more bouncy and natural due to attachment.
They are more durable than most other types and lye much flatter.
These extensions can be applied in an hour.
Additionally they are reusable and versatile in hair styling the remain gentle on your hair
you can style them like your own hair. While other hair extensions require you to not apply any heat near the bonds or tape, micro weft extensions are completely fine with the heat.
The great thing about beaded weft hair extensions is that you can experiment with different hair colors, the give you the flattering look that you want without having to wait for the color to wash out if you change your mind later.
Lastly & most important micro weft extensions are not one size fits all,it’s all about experimenting and finding out what works best for you.
There are a variety of hair extensions wefts that will provide you with varying thicknesses, depending on how much hair your hair can hold.
Swank Hair Extensions Perth we can incorporate extensions that match both your current hair texture and a good compromise on the hair thickness you’re striving for.
Do you have any questions on Micro Weft hair extensions ?

]]>Are you a clip and go gal
Whatever the reason may be, Clips- INS hair extensions provide a lot of people with a good healthy dose of confidence, either for length/volume and I love that about them.
This method is perfect for those who don’t want to make a long term commitment to extensions as they need to be removed daily.
If you don’t want to wear your hair extension on a daily basis, clip in hair extensions is a better option for you.
Clip-in hair extensions are hands down the cheaper option.
WHY???
The reason being, is that you aren’t dependent on an expensive hair Stylist to install the hair, since you can easily do them by yourself.
You also do not need to go in to get them adjusted as your hair grows. With great gentle care, your clip-in hair extensions will last up to 1 year or more.
Not suitable for thin, fine hair as clips and base could be too bulky or heavy for the hair wearer.
CLIP-IN EXTENSIONS MAINTENANCE:
Hair maintenance would be the difference between ratty, falling-out hair, and beautiful full hair.
As with anything, maintaining your clips in hair extensions with the utmost care is the secret to having damage free hair just like your natural hair.
To keep your hair extensions in great shape:
Clip-ins do not take as long to install.
They also do not take as much care and steadiness of the hands either.
They can be done by yourself or by someone else.
It can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes.
If you're undecided on what style you want to try, then you can unclip, and part, then re-clip as desired.
What are your thoughts on Clip-ins??
